I’ve made MANY …
I’ve made MANY modifications to the pattern that I’m working on that I need this 90° bend for. I’ll need to test the pattern over the weekend to see if it works. I can currently make 3/7 pieces that I need done. The remaining 4 pieces are what require the bends. Thank you though for all of your help, it got my brain ticking on how I can solve my problem.
Of course for the …
Of course for the sl st – sc – sl st rounds, you could increase each sl st by one and decrease each sc by two in each consecutive round until you have only 2 sc to complete because if you had 6 sl st – 0 sc – 6 sl st that wouldn’t make any sense.
I’ve found out that …
I’ve found out that doing that creates a skew in the work, it doesn’t actually bend it. What I believe will work, and I was up until 5AM thinking and testing this out, is a sl st – sc pattern. Ex: for a 12 st round: 1 sl st – 10 sc – 1 sl st. Next round: 2 sl st – 8 sc – 2 sl st. This should create somewhere around a 45 degree bend, so then I would just do the same thing again to create the other 45 degrees remaining then continue working 12 sc rounds. I will test this and reply if it works.
I have not worked …
I have not worked through a bend with this piece, so I am not exactly sure how it will come out. I would suggest that you do the same amount of increases opposite the decreases, so you have the same amount of stitches.
Ok, I completed a …
Ok, I completed a 8 SC DEC, 8 SC INC to create the bend on a 24 st round. Now I’m continuing rounds with 24 SC. Will this eventually give my leg a shape similar to a 90° pipe elbow?
A bend will be made …
A bend will be made with a combination of increases and decreases.
I’ve been trying to …
I’ve been trying to figure this out for a few hours now: if I wanted to create a bend in my leg, how would I go about doing that? I imagine some sort of combination of sl st, sc, and dc? A little help would be appreciated, I’ve searched and tried myself with no real solution yet. A great video for those learning crocheting.
It will depend on …
It will depend on the pattern. Some are written with openings for arms to be sewn on later.
