No, it’s not meant …
No, it’s not meant to suggest that I’m creating the pattern on the fly. If you were to meet me in person, and asked me to do this, I would solve it with exactly the same pattern as you see on the video. The pattern is memorized, which does add another level to the challenge. If you click on the link in the description, you’ll see exactly how it is done. The “Why It Works” joke is meant to refer to my mind, not the puzzle.

I don’t necessarily think this is an example of creating a complex pattern on-the-fly, but knowing this numerical pattern before hand and simply solving the puzzle such that it’s in that specific order instead of 1-15. I think this is the best way to describe “how it works” more thoroughly, with the “why it works” simply being the same logic behind “why it works” with respect to solving the puzzle normally.
