Wilson K Blade 98 Tennis Racket Review

http://tennisexpress.com/products2.cfm/ID/8775/c/wilson-demo-tennis-racquets

In this video we review the Wilson K Blade 98 tennis racket. This racket uses a technology that Wilson calls “Karophite Black.” This material makes the racket very strong. As a result, the racket does not bend a lot when you make contact with the tennis ball, giving you good control.

Here are some specs:

Head size — 98 square inches
Weight — 10.7 ounces unstrung
String pattern — 18 x 20

This racket is good for an intermediate to advanced player who places a heavy emphasis on control.

i never noticed how much he chokes up on his backhand grip. is that a good thing or is it one of those things that just happens to work for one player.

    Of all the racquets …
Of all the racquets I have used over the years, I have that the Kblade has provided the best overall feel, a good mix of power and control. Couple the racquet with Kirschbaum Spiky shark strings and the spin you generate is trememdous. Furthermore, as a player who used to break strings every other week, his string has not broken in 6 months.

I have a Wilson racket with a that technology and it feels weirder then most rackets but I love it alot, its so nice and easy to swing through with

  9. And you are correct …
And you are correct. Both frame stiffness AND string tension have an impact on control and power. The greater the string tension the greater the control and the lower the power.

  10. i have had a kblade …
i have had a kblade for about 7 months, and it is ok. need to put lead tape, though, because i am used to the racquet now

    I have tested this …
I have tested this racket when I was looking for a new racket. I didn’t like it at all, but I guess that had more to do with my abilities, or me being used to a wholly different racket. One thing I didn’t like at all was that it was relatively hard on my arm – the most uncomfortable racket I’ve played with so far. I decided to get a Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex in the end, and I love it (the other candidates in my final selection were the HEAD Microgel Extreme and Prince O3 Speedport Black).

  12. i use the kblade 98 …

I am too used to …
I am too used to this raquet to change it already! I tried the Kblade once but it was … let me say it wasn’t like a real Blade for me, i dunno… The only raquet I can play with is this one and the wooden Adidas with Ille Nastase written on it …(the last one only to mess around)

  15. Very interesting – …
Very interesting – I always thought that string tension dictated control v power. I wonder how this would do in my Irish climate, playing outdoors all year round. Air usually damp and cool outside summer months, balls frequently damp or wet.

my friend uses this racquet, i tried it and my shots were okay but the racquet felt like crap imo

I think everyone who has an Nblade is going to say that is master piece.

    Love my Nblade 98

  18. I got the Kblade 98 …
I got the Kblade 98 because i broke my nblade 98. A piece of advice: STICK WITH THE NBLADE. The K is good, but no where near as good as the Nblade is.

I do own this racket and im in the Uk.- kblade 98. i have lead at 3 and 9 o clock and also inside the grip towards the bottom.
I string it with pro hurricane tour in the mains at 52 pounds and natural gut VS 130 at 54 pounds.

Since i have leaded it , there is more stability and its a great racket for taking a swing and with the string combination , great feel and spin capability.
