How do you convert square feet to length and width?

Square feet= 2280. I’m trying to figure out the with and length of a mobile home.

This is obviously a double wide and they range is widths from 28 to 36 ft. Typical lengths are 60 to 80 ft. For example a 32 X 70 = 2240

  1. You have to start with either the width or the length, then divide that number into the area to get the other dimension. I’m assuming it’s a rectangle……….
    A hand calculator would be handy.

  3. Square feet is a measure of area.

    Area = length x width = 2280 ft²

    you sorta need to know either the length or width to solve this. You could even solve it if you had the relationship of the length to the width. For example if its 10 times as long as it is wide…
    L = 10w
    Area = 10w * w = 10w² = 2280; w ~ 15 ft

    It depends on the shape of the home. Square feet equals the width times the length. If it was a perfect square, the home would be 48 feet by 48 feet. Since it’s a rectangle, it’s probably more like 24 feet by 72 feet.

    by finding suitable factors of the area
    it can be (2280,1),(1140,2),
    (760,3),(570,4),(456,5)
    (380,6),(285,8),(228,10)
    ,(190,12),(152,15)……………….
    you see
    if it is a perfect square you
    find the square root

  7. "Square Feet" is the unit of "area". It depends both on "length’ as well as on "width". The mathematical relationship between these is:

    Area = Length X Width.

    If length and width both are known in feet then area will be in sq. ft. If these are in yards then area will be in sq. yrds. etc.

    Your figure of 2280 sq. ft. can be factored into various ways. Such as 40 X 57,
    120 X 19, 76 X 30 etc. So your mobile home could be any of the dimensions 40ft by
    57ft, or 120ft by 19ft or 76ft by 30ft etc.

  8. My guess is that it’s roughly 30 by 76 because the other easy options are 24 by 95 or 20 by 114 and that just seems a little long to me.
